Last Post... :(

So this is it. This is my last post on this blog. I did this blog for an english assignment and I thought I would hate it, having to post each week seemed like a pain in the butt! Turns out it was pretty fun. I liked writing about fashion, makeup, or beauty each week. I always had ideas floating through my head, and I loved planning each blog post. With that being said, I will continue with blogging. However, I'm going to be blogging on a different blog. Why? Well this blog is set up with my school email, and the second I graduate it'll be gone. Poof! I don't really want that to happen. My new blog is going to be exactly the same as this, just a different name.

I think that blogging this summer is going to really help me stay motivated to get out and do stuff, because let's face it, we all get super lazy in the summer. This way have to actually do something this summer at least once a week. I really did have fun with this though and hope that you decide to check out my other blog :) Click here to come and check it out!

I also think I might make a youtube channel, but I'm not sure about that yet, we'll see. I don't even have any good names figured out. I made a youtube channel with my friends last summer, but since there were seven of us it was kind of hard to work out each week and videos, etc. It didn't last very long, but I had a lot of fun non-the-less. So if I do end up doing a youtube channel it'll probably be a solo channel, but I don't know maybe my friends and I will each have our own channel. I'm not sure, I don't even know if they want to make one.

This summer I'm so excited for everything! The summer styles, the two months of vacation, everything!  I got a skateboard that I'll be able to ride everywhere instead of having to walk everywhere. I'm learning right now so I'm not the best, but by summer I should be able to ride it pretty well. The reason why I'm in need of transportation is because usually my sister could just drive me places, but this summer she'll be at a camp for a majority of the summer. Leaving my little sister and I without rides unless our parents aren't busy, which a very small chance. I'm also really excited because I'll be able to spend tons of time with my friends just hanging out and shopping, etc.

So this is it, my last post on this blog forever.

How To Style Short Hair

So as you probably figured out from my last post, I cut my hair. It is literally so nice. I cut off about 8" of my hair and I don't regret it one bit. The salon I went to was super great too! It was called Salon O, check out their website here. My hairstylist was amazing, her name was Jessie, she listened to what I wanted and she didn't pull a crazy hairstylist and cut off way too much. I love having short hair, my old hair had so many split ends and it always got tangled. Now, my hair is so healthy and I can literally wake up and brush my hair with my hands if I wanted to. The only problem? It's a little tricky to style. However, I have found five hairstyles that look amazing with short hair (as well as long hair), and I want to share them with you!
*********************************************************************************
1. Messy Waves
I absolutely love this style! It's just so casual looking and it's the perfect summer hairstyle!

Step One:
Section off hair, I like to take the top part of my hair and put it up.

Step Two:
Take a small section of your hair and twist it, then wrap it around your curling iron. Hold your hair on for 5 seconds in thin and 10 if thicker. I only help my hair on for 5 seconds because it's pretty thin.

Step Three:
Continue doing this for the whole first layer of hair. Then do it for the second layer. Keep in mind the tighter you wrap your hair around the iron, the tighter the wave, so try not to make it super tight.

Step Four:
Finally I'm going to add a little dry shampoo to my hair just to make it a little more messy and voluminous.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
2. Side Back
I really like this style because it's super quick and easy, yet it looks amazing!

Step One:
Part you hair to the side

Step Two:
Take the front piece of hair from the side that is bigger than the other, I just took my side bangs back.

Step Three:
Twist that piece of hair back.

Step Four:
Pin piece behind head.

Step Five:
If you want, you can curl or hair, or make messy waves.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
3. Half and Half
In this hair style I like to put half of my hair and half of it down. This way my hair is out of my face but it's not fully up.

Step One:
Take the two sections of hair above your ears on each side.

Step Two:
Pull both pieces to the back of your head and smooth out.

Step Three:
Secure hair with a clear hair tie.

Step Four:
If you want to you can always curl the little back ponytail, or put a bow on it.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
4. Over The Top
This is similar to a braided crown, but it's not a full one. I think that this hairstyle is perfect it can either be dressed up or just casual.  This hairstyle also looks awesome with wavy hair!

Step One:
Take a section of hair from just above the ear, like in the half and half hairstyle, except just take the hair section on one side.

Step Two:
Using that section of hair you are going to french braid across the top of your head. If you dont know how to do a french braid check out this simple tutorial for a french braid here.

Step Three:
Continue with the french braid until till you get to your other ear.

Step Four:
Secure hair with bobby pins, I used four and placed them in x's.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
5. Add Some Accessories
For this one I'm using a bandana to create a super cute hairstyle.

Step One:
Part hair on the side.

Step Two:
Wrap the bandana around your head and tie in bow, like a headband.

Step Three:
I like to move the bandana to the side, as well as have my hair wavy whenever I do my hair like this, but you can still just have your hair natural and it'll still look great!

Hope the helped those of you guys get some ideas on how to style your hair!

April Favs

So April is FINALLY over!! Honestly I feel like April went by soooo fast and the fact that it's May now makes me super happy!! Whenever May rolls around it just makes summer feel so close, I mean schools over in a month! So I thought that it would be fun to do a favorites post because I've never done one! I have a lot of favorites so I'm not going to write too much about each one, but if you want me to follow up on any products just leave a comment :)

Makeup:

My first favorites for makeup would have to be the L'oreal magic Skin Beautier BB Cream. I have the shade in light and it's actually wayy too dark for me. But, I thought I'd share it because I'll be using it in the summer when I get my tan on! Anyways this stuff is really cool because it comes out whiteish grey and then when you start to rub it in it turns into the color, which is way cool.

Next favorite is the Revlon Photoready powder. I used to use the Nutrogeana face powder to set my makeup and make it look matte, but it was not working. This one on the other hand is awesome it mattifies my face well and it doesn't make my makeup look caked on even when I'm only wearing concealer on my blemishes. I got this powder in the translucent shade.

The Stila lip galze had made it in my favorites because it is the perfect lipgloss. Why? Because it's not overly glossy and it gives your lips great color. I have the three lip laze kit, which comes with a lighter shade than this and a darker shade. My personal favorite is the lighter one, but I keep that in my enormous pencil case stash of lip products, so this is a picture of the medium one, which is going to be awesome in the summer!!

For my eyeshadow I love the look of a simple eyeshadow look. These two e.l.f eyeshadows are perfect for just that. They dont have a ton and a ton of pigment so it doesn't look like I have like a whole treasure chest of gold on my eyeball. I like to use the elegant shadow first then apply celebrity to the outer corners. Perfect golden eye.

Finally for makeup are my three go to mascaras. The first mascara from Great Lash by Maybelline I like to actually use on my eyebrows instead. I know that's weird, but it keeps them in place somewhat so I don't have nasty brows flyin all over the place! The second mascara is The Falsies winged out edition. I really like this mascara because it adds a lot of length and some volume to your lashes, but it still looks pretty natural. The same goes for my third mascara by Covergirl called ClumpCrushers. This mascara is great for the same reason, but it's also different, I just can't explain it. Haha

Skincare:

My first favorite for skincare is obviously my Clarisonic. I feel like I've mentioned this quite a lot so I'm just gonna leave it at that.

Next would have to be the Mary Kay Clear Proof™Acne Treatment Gel. Like I said before this has worked miracles for my acne, and now my skin is great! If you want to check this puppy out click here.

My next favorite for skin care would have to be my new cleanser by Olay. I just got this cleanser this week to replace my other Biore cleanser. I got this for two reasons; one my Biore cleanser was almost out, and two I felt that it wasn't cleaning my skin completely. I would still recommend the biore cleanser for those lucky peeps that don't have to deal with much acne, but if you do then I would go for something else. Olay has tons of different cleanser to choose from like exfoliators and such, but I just went with the foaming cleanser because I already have the Clarisonic to exfoliate my skin.

Finally, my last favorite is called Egyptian Magic. It an all around moisturizer. I like to use it for my hands because it makes them suuuuuper soft, but I've read about people using it on their face, their legs, it's great.  If you're interested check it out here. It is a little expensive, but my mom purchased it at the Costco almighty.

Fashion:
My favorite trends this month had to be almost anything at Coachella, I just think that that style is so simple, yet adorable! The boho vibe is fashionable, and very cute! I loved seeing all celebrities post pictures on insta and see all their outfits... Who's style did I like the best? Probably Vanessa Hudgen's. I just love her style.

My favorite piece of clothing from my wardrobe would definitely be my oversized denim jacket. I love how this fits! I got this jacket on my trip to Paris from what I'm pretty sure was a thrift shop. It's super comfy and soft because it's been worn and I just love the way it looks.

Miscellaneous:

My favorite food this month is bananas. I know bananas are kind of a weird favorite but before this month I hated bananas. I hated the scent, the smell and let's not forget the taste. This month however I had a banana and Nutella crepe, cause I don't know I felt like it for some reason, and something happened. I now have a banana every morning with my breakfast and it gives energy to start my morning right :)

My favorite Fragrance for this month would have to be Eau So Fresh Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I just love the scent it's so floral but it's not overly girly floral. It's just right.

My favorite overall purchase of April would definitely be my Penny Board! I have been thinking about getting a Penny Board for such a long time, then I had to save up for one because they're not cheap. Finally I ordered mine and I'm obsessed! I'm not super great at riding a skateboard, but I'm learning and the more I learn the better and more fun it gets!!

Oh ya and one more thing. I made a big change to my appearance this month... About a week before spring break... That's right. I cut my hair. I personally didn't cut it, like I went in and got it cut, but ya. I love it. I got about 8" or so chopped of and I thought I would regret it, but here I am two weeks + later still lovin my hair.

Hope you enjoyed this post!!

My Skin Care Routine :)

Just recently I had a really bad skin break out, so I had to buckle down on my skin routine, and it's worked miracles on my skin. I used to wash my face every night, unless I was lazy. Recently my school was on spring break, and as I mentioned in my last post I went to Paris. Which by the way was fantastic. The only problem? I got lazy. I barely washed my face which led to multiple breakouts all over my face.  So this week is kind of like my recovery week where I'm trying to clear my skin up. I wanted to share my skin care routine for those of you who are also blessed with bad skin. Obviously it's going to be different for everyone but, hopefully this will give some inspiration. Also, check out this awesome quiz about your skincare routine!

First Step:

The first thing I do is take off all my makeup. Usually I just splash my face with water a few times to get off my mascara and then my Clarisonic can do the rest, but I'll occasionally use some makeup remover wipes.
Second Step:
Then I wash my face. I do this right after splashing my face with water a few times. I use the Biore facial cleanser along with my Clarisonic. I really like the Biore facial cleanser because it's very gentle on my skin, but it works really well! It leaves my face fealing so clean and all the dirt is gone. Also my Clarisonic Mia is fantastic, my skin is great! After using my Clarisonic I dry my face with a towel.

Third Step:
Then after I wash and dry my face I apply the Mary Kay Clearspot treatment. Let me tell you, this thing works wonders. Earlier this week I had massive redness all over my face along with giant pimples all over my forehead because I was lazyyyyy in Paris. Now it's friday and my face is practically clear! Sure, there's still some but it's nothing concealer can't fix :)

Finally Step:
Finally I moisturize. I use two different ones. For my night routine I use Aveano clear complexion Daily Moisturizer, for my day time routine I use Aveano Positively Radient Daily Moisturizer. The reason I have two different moisturizers is because my daytime moisturizer contains SPF 30 so I can have healthy skin. I didn't want to use this one at night because it would clog my pores and that would defeat the point.

I know it's not something special but hey, it works for me and hopefully it may work for some of you guys. I do though highly recommend anyone who gets massive breakouts to try the Mary Kay stuff because this stuff is great, and it doesn't even dry out my face!

What to Pack for an International Flight

Finally we have reached spring break!! I have been waiting for this week since my last break so I am soooo excited! Why? Because tomorrow I will be on my way to PARIS!! There are no words to explain how excited I am. I decided since many people are going on spring break that I would do a blog on what I'm packing. I want to focus this mainly on the plane ride. I mean it's 10 1/2 hours! I've never actually been on a flight that's this long. The only places I've been out of the US is Costa Rica and Mexico, which both don't have super big time changes or long flights. The time change is about 8 hours, so when I land it's gonna be weird, the advice I've gotten is to sleep the entire plan ride, because when I land I'll have missed the night in paris, so that's my plan but we'll see how that goes.

My Bag:
For my carry-on I'm just using my backpack which I got at journeys and it's a Jan Sport bag.

1. Entertainment
Although I plan on sleeping the whole plane ride, I'm gonna want some backup just incase I have trouble sleeping. I'm bringing: my ipod, and a book (Confessions Of A Shopaholic). I'm only bringing my ipod to listen to music, because as I said before, I need to sleep as much as possible to avoid jetlag. Also so I can take pictures in Paris. My book is so that I can read it incase I'm bored and can't sleep. I'm also bringing a cute little Paris journal my friend Stella gave me!

2. All of my essentials
I always bring my main essentials with me such as my phone, my wallet, anything that I need to have with me just in-case my suitcase gets lost. I'm bringing my wallet, but not my phone because I won't be using it internationally.

3. Makeup
So I brought my usual makeup with me on the plane because it is an overnight flight. The makeup I'm bringing includes: Make up wipes to take off makeup before I sleep, mascara, eyeliner, and coverup.

4. Comfort Items
If I'm gonna have to sleep the whole plane ride, then I'm gonna have to be comfortable. So I'm bringing a small neck travel pillow that I got at TJ-Maxx. Also my sunglasses so after the flight I can see in the sun :)

I know it's not a lot, but hey I plan on sleeping most of the time if all goes well. Hope you enjoyed this post and that it gave you some ideas of what to pack in your carry on!

Birthday Haul!!

Two weeks ago I had my birthday, which is pretty much the best day of the year. I would've done this post last week, but since my dad was out of town we put off the celebration until Sunday. I decided to show you what I got for my birthday and just tell you guys a little bit about each one.

#1 Clarisonic

The first gift I got was my Clarisonic Mia 2, and Oh my god, I am so excited about this gift! I did a lot of research before so I knew more about it and how it worked, also if it worked. I've had the Clarisonic for about a week and my skin is already better!! It's so soft on my face and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with acne problems! It also came with a cute little travel case, and a cosmetics bag! Also is you want me to make a separate post going into more detail. Check out the one I got here.

#2 Steve Madden Purse
I literally can't describe how excited I am about this purse. I've wanted an over sized purse for ages! But, being the picky person I am I never could find the right one for me. Then I went shopping with my dad and saw this beautiful purse at Nordstrom Rack and it was the only one left. Bum Bum Bummmm. It was too expensive for me to buy at the time, but I thought maybe just maybe I would be able to get it for my birthday. I hinted about it, but I didn't think anyone actually would get it for. Little did I know my sisters were pulling a fast one on me, making me think they had already got me a different gift. You can imagine my surprise when they went in together and got it for me!! Happy Day Happy Day!!!

#3 Stila Makeup Set
I'm in love with this makeup set! It contains 3 eyeshadow sets, a travel lipstick, a lipgloss, and an eyeliner. Anything Stila is awesome and I'm so excited about this set. Plus it comes with a cute little instruction card for a great eyeshadow look in to match you eye color. How Cool!?

#4 Gift Basket :)
From my awesome aunt I got a super unique gift, and I absolutely love it! She made a cute little gift basket and in it was basically a sushi set. Did I mention I LOVE SUSHI!! I got this cute ceramic chopsticks, a small dish, a small bowl, and a plate that would serve a sushi roll. Yummmmm

So ya, Best Birthday EVA! I'm so excited about what I got and I just wanted to share with you! Maybe this gives you some good gift ideas either to give, or jot down for your future birthday list!

Hydrated and Soft Lips

I have an obsession, I have an obsession with lip products. Mainly with Chap-stick. I absolutely hate it when my lips are dry and cracked! One way to keep your lips flake free and well hydrated is to use a lip scrub every so often. The great thing about lip scrubs is that they are super easy to make, and you can make them however you want. I wanted to show you just how much a lip scrub can really help your lips become hydrated and smooth instantly! Here are my favorite lip scrubs that I found surfing Pinterest, but if you want to just buy some lip scrubs check out LUSH they have some lip products!

Before: Ya I know, super duper dry and annoying!

The lip scrub that I decided to show you guys is the simplest of the four recipes and most people have these ingredients in their kitchen.

Brown Sugar Lip Scrub:
1 Tbs Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp Honey
2 Tsp Olive Oil

 The Scrub:
Once you put the lip scrub on you can either wash it off with a wash cloth, or like me, just lick it off. Then apply some chap-stick, I used Say Yes To Pomegranates chap-stick.

After: Silky Smoooooth

Other Great Lip Scrub Recipes
1. Minty Fresh (Kind of like the Mint Julep LUSH scrub)
3Tbs brown sugar
2Tbs olive oil
A couple drops of mint extract
Dried mint leaves (or fresh if you have some)

2. Oranges and Lemons
2Tbs Sugar
1 1/2 Tbs shae butter
1 Tsp orange zest
1 Tsp lemon zest

3. Strawberry and Banana
1 Tsp strawberries (pureed)
1 Tsp Bananas (pureed)
3 Tbs Sugar
1 1/2 Tbs coconut oil

Hope you enjoyed this post!!
